all the paths I could travel

All the paths I could
Travel are pointing me
In 360 directions

Which path I choose
Is hard for me
To imagine.

If I move in one direction
The circle collapses and
My path becomes fixed

I can’t help but wonder
What would happen if
I chose another path

Where would that one lead me
What would I be giving up
What would I become?

You can be or do anything
You want, so the words go
And that’s true.

The problem isn’t lack
Of choice; it’s too much
Choice that spends my head

Which path to choose I
Cannot tell, so I stand still
Keeping the circle in tact.

This one is a real thinker. I will have to return and re-read this one. I think you have actually written a poem about 360 directions, thus,a circle, that takes the reader around the circle with you. See I am having trouble explaining exactly how it moved me…but, in my head I know it did. It is very thought provoking…Excellent piece of poetry!!

I keep coming back to this one. It’s like the counter point to “when ravens cry”.
That one killed me with the paths seen but not taken. The risks not taken. The dreams not realized.
This one is almost worse.
So many paths to choose from with NONE of them taken.
The fear that the “wrong” one will be chosen. So to do NOTHING. Spinning.
Pick one. Please. Any of them. Act.

You words are so powerful.
