Waiting for life to begin

I woke up feeling a little like Bruce Springsteen in Better Days:

Well my soul checked out missing as I sat listening
To the hours and minutes tickin’ away
Yeah just sittin’ around waitin’ for my life to begin
While it was all just slippin’ away
I’m tired of waitin’ for tomorrow to come
Or that train to come roarin’ round the bend
I got a new suit of clothes a pretty red rose
And a woman I can call my friend…

It’s easy to put things off until the stars have aligned just right, or you have enough time, money, or other resources. You want everything to be perfect before you begin. In my experience, waiting for the perfect time is just another avoidance tactic. Forget that!

Instead, begin now with where you are and what you have. There will never be a perfect time. Start small or start big, who cares? Just begin!

And if not now, when?

In fact, don’t answer that question, just start – NOW!
