The Barefoot Doctor aka Stephen Russell was a practitioner and teacher of Taoism, its medicine, philosophy, meditation practices, and martial arts and manifesting system, or wu wei. I first came across his work in a small bookshop tucked away in the Scottish Highlands. It was his informal, wayward writing style and approach to Taoism that caught my attention. He’s written over 30 books. Here are my favourite:

  1. Barefoot Doctor’s Handbook for the Urban Warrior: Spiritual Survival Guide

2. Return of the Urban Warrior: High-Speed Spirituality For People on the Run

3. Barefoot Doctor’s Handbook for Heroes: Spiritual Guide to Fame and Fortune

4. Pure: The Keys To Your Supernature

Hi, I'm Clay Lowe. I'm a narrative alchemist working at the intersection of depth psychology, chaos magick, alchemy, mythic imagination, and myth-making in the AI age. I treat stories as spiritual technology, the code we use to construct reality. I design games and tools, and create practices for inner transformation and self-mastery.
