I fly to Spain in 2 hours. My travel companions are Ruth, Kerouac, and Auden. I have no agenda other than to get to Barcelona and see what happens.

Clay, did you remember to pack your rock chess set and CPT Morgans? Don’t want to get caught in the weather unprepared.
Clay…took a walk along the you path for a few minutes. My eyes saw us in the phrase “stuck on a cliff face” even though where we were stranded may not qualify as a cliff. NLK told me you were in England some time ago, and that there was a poetry bent about you. I love where you’re going in your life’s direction, or simply the fact that you are paying attention to what is true to you. I have given the Army 22 years now…and I cannot find another drop of my sould to leave on the table. I turned 40 and opted to run my first marathon…and loving every mile of it so far. Reading James Allen “As A Man Thinketh” which defines a great deal of the principles at work in us and around us every day in our lives. You’re in the right line of work when you’re helping. The one picture I have of you in my photo album has you biting thru a beer can…not the image of a poet at open mic nite so the contrast to me is intirguing. Wll, hope Spain was memorable. Drop me a line. I’ll volunteer to lead your New England mountain hikes through the White Mountains…

Brother Dan,
Man seeing your name brings back some serious memories – you, me, and CPT Morgan on a hilltop laughing as we watched a huge storm roll in; and what a storm it was. We used to talk of time and things beyond. Sadly the one photo I had of you has disappear in one to many moves. I still have one of Nadia at the prep school. Biting through beer cans; I haven’t done that in a while, though occasionally I still do.
