Who Do You Want to Be? — Soulcruzer
Tool 3 of 3 — Instrumental Values
Ways of Living Terminal Values Instrumental Values

Who do you
actually want
to be?

If terminal values are what you want your life to produce, instrumental values are who you need to become to get there. They're the personal qualities — the ways of being — that you most want to embody.

Psychologist Milton Rokeach identified 18 of these qualities. Most people find several appealing in the abstract. The harder question is which ones you're genuinely committed to — and which you'd rather just have people think you have.

Go through each one as honestly as you can. Not who you want to be seen as. Who you actually want to be.
