I’ve recently been exploring my identity as a “rogue postmodern philosopher poet.” It’s an unconventional title, but it feels right, at the moment at least, and it captures the essence of my eclectic interests and nonconformist spirit. This self-designation isn’t just a label; I feel like it embodies my relationship to philosophy, poetry, spiritual wisdom, and belief in expressive writing as a means of unlocking the hidden power of the unconscious mind. As much as I resist titles, there’s something liberating and empowering about having one (or several). I’ve come to realise that they help you navigate your thoughts and expressions with a sense of purpose and direction.

As I mentioned yesterday, my return to OG blogging is about creating a vibrant space where I can share thoughts with and build a community of like-minded souls. By inviting others into my inner world, I’m hoping to create a shared connection with them. It has never been my ambition to be a broadcaster. I’d rather have a good conversation.

In the end, I’d like for this space to be a place where ideas can flow freely and where collective wisdom can flourish.

Ultimately, my journey as a rogue postmodern philosopher-poet is about more than self-expression; it’s about forging meaningful connections, fostering a sense of belonging, and contributing to a larger dialogue. It’s about embracing the unconventional and finding beauty in the chaos of ideas. This path I’m on, while unconventional, feels right, and I’m excited to see where it leads as I continue to share, connect, and grow with my readers.

trippin’

I finally bought the Tripp app—a meditation, relaxation, and well-being app for my Meta Quest 3. I’ve been itching to try an experimental form of meditation—something short of psychedelic drugs, but still able to help me journey to the centre of Self.

Launching the Tripp app is like opening a portal to another dimension. You’re enveloped in a sensory-rich environment, floating through abstract spaces, with your mind fully present. Some might argue it’s a distraction, like watching TV, but I see it differently. In this digital sanctum, my mind is engaged and focused. The immersive environment anchors me in the present and helps me prevent my thoughts from straying too far.

I’ve decided to commit to at least one meditation session a day with Tripp. The guided aspect, combined with its trippy, psychedelic vibe, is intriguing. It offers a variety of experiences—calm, focus, relaxation, even preparing for sleep. It’s a testament to how technology can enhance ancient practices.

One of the coolest features of Meta Quest 3 is its mixed-reality capability. You can build your virtual sanctum right on top of your in-real-life space, personalising it with 3D objects that blend into your physical environment. I’m looking forward to exploring Tripp further.

Let’s see where this path leads.
